Student and doctoral academic conference under the patronage of IRSA

A nationwide student and doctoral research conference entitled “Veni, vidi, audivi” was held in Kraków, organised by the Art History Students’ Research Society of the Jagiellonian University and the Musicologists’ Research Society of the Jagiellonian University [Koło Naukowe Studentów Historii Sztuki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego and Koło Naukowe Muzykologów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego]. The IRSA Foundation for the Promotion of Culture acted as patron of the event.

Meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Centro di Studi e documentazione su Lorenzo Lotto

Professor Józef Grabski attended a meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Centro di Studi e documentazione su Lorenzo Lotto, which took place at the Vatican Museums.

Research conference in Rome

Professor Józef Grabski participated in the research conference ‘Tiziano a Roma (1545–1546): Roma vista da Venezia’ organised by Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome.

The Marian Sokołowski Prize

The Marian Sokołowski Prize for the best MA thesis in art history written at the Institute of Art History of the Jagiellonian University in the 2024/2025 academic year was awarded to at the Institute of Art History. Professor Józef Grabski, the Chair of the IRSA Foundation, is one of the members of the award jury.
This year’s prize was awarded to Mateusz Binda, MA, for his thesis ‘Reconstructions, relocations and reinterpretations of modernist exhibition pavilions in the light of conservation doctrines’, written under the supervision of Professor Piotr Krasny.
Special award of the IRSA Foundation went to Grzegorz Wójcicki, MA,  for his thesis  ‘Stone fragments depicting Saints Christopher and Sigismund from St. Martin’s Church in Opatów. An attempt to identify the function’, written under the supervision of Professor Andrzej Betlej.

New member of the advisory committee of Artibus et Historiae

In 2025, Mathias Wivel, PhD, was appointed to the advisory committee of the journal ‘Artibus et Historiae’. He is the head of research, the library and the archives at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
